Synopsis
Motivation: Investigating quantitative relaxometry in neuro-oncology and neurology patients involves measurements at both pre-treatment and long-term time points (6 months).
Goals: Our goal was to determine the long-term repeatability of quantitative relaxometry using Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (MRF) at 3T.
Approach: We scanned the ISMRM/NIST premium system phantom with MRF 10 times each at 6-month intervals. We measured short-term repeatability and compared mean errors after 6 months using paired t-tests.
Results: Short-term MRF repeatability was high (coefficient of variability T1<1%, T2<3%). We observed significant differences in errors after 6 months in all but two probes. Continuous calibration throughout clinical studies is advised.
