Dynamic Susceptibility Contrast (DSC) Phantom

The DSC Phantom is used for the standardization of dynamic susceptibility contrast imaging in support of rCBV imaging biomarkers, as well as the development of DSC sequences.

  • Developed in conjunction with NIST following RSNA/QIBA profile: Dynamic Susceptibility Contrast MRI (DSC-MRI), DSC-2020.01.29.

  • ∅194 mm spherical shell fits most MRI scanners and head coils.

  • DSC mimics: Ten 30 ml vials with aqueous solutions of Agarose in
    concentrations from 0.2% to 3.0% doped with 0.01mM GdCl3

  • Chemical reference solutions: three 30 ml vials with 0.047mM MnCl2 and three 5 ml Physical reference vials with 1.0mM GdCl3

  • Patented ten-element liquid crystal (LC) thermometer, MR-readable, for
temperature compensation from 15°C to 24°C.
